Even if Texas A&M football fans could see it coming, many were still bummed to see QB Conner Weigman enter his name into the transfer portal. The Aggies are committed to Marcel Reed now, and Weigman's future lay elsewhere—that much was true through almos tthe whole last month of the season.

Weigman represented a lot of hope for many in this fanbase. His five-star pedigree and breakout performance against Ole Miss, and a lot of the hype surrounding his potential and flashes in other games, like the one against Miami, had fans believing he could take the Ags to the next level.

That never happened, of course. And now Weigman is outbound from the Aggies— a fact that is not pleasant for many to ruminate upon.

But many fans wondered— where will Conner end up? After all, with his established skills, even though he's a little up and down, you have to think that many big time programs would be looking to bring him in. Well, now we have our answer.

Former Texas A&M football QB Conner Weigman commits to hometown Houston Cougars

It looks like Weigman won't have to go far at all for his next stop, as he has committed to his hometown Houston Cougars. He announced it earlier today.

Conner is originally from the greater Houston area, so this is a homecoming for him. Working under Willie Fritz is a great fit for a guy who needs a QB whisperer to harness his evident talents, and I like the fit offensively overall.

For a guy who weathered so many ups and downs in College Station, I like this fit for Conner a lot. He's back home in a familiar place, and he's working with a staff that will utilize his talents well. Best of luck, Conner— Aggie fans now have a Big 12 team to support next season.
