Former Texas A&M star RB in rare territory that only most WRs should be in

Texas A&M fans are well aware that the Miami Dolphins have a true gift.

One of the loudest Kyle Field moments in recent memory came when Texas A&M defeated No. 1 Alabama back in 2021. During that game, a speedster by the name of De'Von Achane roared the Aggie crowd by running home for a 96-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Since then, Achane's career took off, and became the starting running back of the 2022 season. After being drafted by the Miami Dolphins, he took the league by storm in his rookie year, especially after helping Miami put up a rare 70 points against the Denver Broncos.

One stat shows Achane in some rare territory against some elite wide receivers. It's why the Dolphins got lucky in getting the former Texas A&M tailback.

Achane ranks 2nd in most YAC after star WR Ja'Marr Chase

To be behind just one WR in yards after catch is mind-blowing. His high rate in touches make sense, but again, this is yards after a catch, meaning receivers are supposed to be the ones on this list.

The yards after catch is what makes the game of football fun, and there's no doubt that Achane fits the billing as an extremely fun player to watch.

There's nothing to be surprised about here for Aggies fans, but perhaps for the other NFL fans watching. Achane ran a 4.32 in his 40-yard dash, which was the fastest for any running back in the draft.

Achane is like the Travis Kelce of his respective office. Kelce is basically treated like a WR, even though he's listed as a TE. Achane has always been a running back, but he's an all-purpose guy, with running and catching the football at a high rate.

Dolphins fans are lucky to have him, and he's an all-purpose guy that any team would love to have.
