When you think of former Texas A&M football players now wrecking shop in the ranks of the NFL, one of the first names that comes to mind is that of Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett. One of the premier names in the country when with the Aggies, Garrett was a top recruit in the class of 2014 and had a banner first year at Texas A&M.

It only took a few games for him to end up starting along the defensive line, and he broke the freshman sack record set by Jadaveon Clowney in his first year with the Aggies. He only went up from there, as his sophomore season saw him blossom into a complete monster.

His junior year was amazing as well, and he was a very deserving top pick overall in the NFL draft, continuing the strong tradition of elite pass rushers in the league that came from Texas A&M. His prolific production in college and now the NFL has earned him a spot on a prestigious list that a premier recruiting service just put out.

Myles Garrett ranked as top-10 recruit of all time by Rivals

When counting down the top recruits of all time, it would be a massive oversight to not include Myles given his achievements, and Rivals ended up ranking him as the 9th-best overall.

Some names ahead of him included the aforementioned Jadaveon Clowney as well as players like Reggie Bush.

Offensive threats will always have the limelight when it comes to rankings like this, but Myles holds his own with any of them. As a premier pass rusher and also a strong defender against the run, he's really a defensive end with no weaknesses in his game.

Clowney, for example, has not had the same kind of NFL career that Garrett has, mostly due to Garrett's super-premium pass-rushing skills at the next level. Clowney has been great, but Garrett has been even better, well earning his max money.

This is a great honor for the former Aggie player, and one of many accolades that will continue to come down the pike. Hopefully, he can help transform Cleveland back into a contender here soon.
