Texas A&M Aggies in the NFL are letting their presence be known on the gridiron early this preseason.

It didn't take long at at all for one former Aggie to get noticed, even if he still was considered a Super Bowl champion last season. Ainias Smith, the speedster had quite the impression on the Philadelphia Eagles coaching staff in their preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The former Aggie is making great strides on his reps, and he looks like another steal, as he was drafted in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft to make matters worse for other NFL GMs.

Ainias Smith is off to a hot start in 2025 NFL preseason

Smith ran a simple slant route on a short pass to the endzone. It looked effortless, but that's just Smith's speed to perfection for you. This was a crucial moment, as the Eagles captured the lead to go into halftime. Of course, nothing counts during preseason, except for the reps you bring in.

Smith has been active on special teams, too, as a punt return put Philly in business for an insurance score late in the half. The Eagles coaching staff is going to have to decide their 53-man roster in a few weeks, but it looks like Smith has already secured a spot with his diverse play style.

The former Aggie contributed a ton back in his collegiate career, as he was a part of one of the most memorable upsets in Texas A&M history, when they defeated No. 1 Alabama back in 2021.

It won't be long until Smith makes a roster, and it looks like he's going to stick with the defending Super Bowl champs. If not, it won't take long for another NFL team to call him up.
