Four risers and one faller in Texas A&M's no sweat victory vs. Samford

The Texas A&M Aggies are 11-0 after doing exactly what they needed to do against Samford.

The 12th Man kickoff team got to show out, along with four different quarterbacks throwing passes. The outcome was never in doubt, but it's nice to see a bunch of faces getting tons of playing time in Texas A&M's last regular-season home game.

The risers and fallers will be different this time around, as some guys who never get any love will get some for this week.

Riser: Ashton-Bethel Roman

Both of Bethel-Roman's catches went for touchdowns, as he finished with two catches for 61 yards. The six-foot freshman out of Missouri City, TX, is showing what he can do for next season in this Aggie offense.

He has turned into a reliable weapon on a loaded Texas A&M offense as it is, and he's showing what he can do if given the opportunity.

Riser: Amari Daniels

Amari Daniels was the main ballcarrier in yesterday's game and finished with nine carries for 106 yards and a touchdown.

Fans would've liked to see more of Daniels this season, but even with the unfortunate injury to Le'Veon Moss earlier this season, he hasn't jumped in the depth chart. Jamarion Morrow has been the second option at RB, with Rueben Owens taking the first-team reps.

Good for Mike Elko to highlight all he's done with the program, and he was rewarded in his final home game.

Riser: TK Norman

It was on a 3rd-and-9 in the third quarter where freshman WR TK Norman got his number called for a screen play on the near side.

He not only got a first down but put his foot in the turf to cut back to the middle of the field for a huge pickup of 29 yards.

That was Brady Hart's first career completion, and Norman finished with three receptions for 39 yards. He's obviously far down in the depth chart, but it was nice to see Norman make a heck of a play in the open field.

Riser: Marco Jones

The freshman from California got into the party as the leading tackler of the game with seven. He also contributed a tackle for loss.

Jones will be a central part of the defense once Cashius Howell hangs it up for his Texas A&M career, and it's someone Elko is going to love coaching more someday.

Faller: Elko doubters

The second-year head coach has gone 11-0, winning all of his games at home.

The media portrays Texas A&M as a team that can't win 10 games. They always fail when it matters. The fans are still living off Johnny Manziel.

Not anymore. Marcel Reed has emerged as a legitimate Heisman contender, with dreams of a national championship pending the Texas game and a potential SEC Championship game to look forward to.

Not to mention the types of recruits that Elko has brought in. The future is bright at Texas A&M, and it's time for the haters to knock it off.
