Texas A&M Maroon and White game analysis - Shone: Brady Hart
Talk about eye-catching— a guy who is (still) one of the youngest players on the team, having come to College Station last year at the young age of 16, looks much more like a veteran than anyone expected. Many of the most impressive moments of the day came from his arm (though Isaiah Horton had equal, if not more, to do with those, it should be said).
Hart has ascended quite quickly, and though there was a lot of optimism about true freshman Helaman Casuga, it looks like it's the man from Cocoa Beach who has a stranglehold on the backup quarterback spot. There's no QB competition for starter right now— Reed is the man for the job, no matter what his detractors say— but Hart gives Texas A&M fans a lot of confidence in their second option.
He's a different guy than Reed, for sure— much more of a pro-style passer than a dual-threat— but it worked well for him in this one. He was unafraid to test the defense down the field, and in one impressive moment of improvisation, placed a ball perfectly to Ashton Bethel-Roman off of his back foot when facing pressure.
The future of the position feels a little bit better after watching this one. Hopefully, Hart's progression continues apace.
