Texas A&M just lost to Miami in the most heart-rending way possible, as a late interception doomed the Aggies. Things may have been different if not for some early-game miscues that put a lot of pressure on the Ags, but old issues caught up to them when all was said and done.
That puts an end to one of the most successful seasons that the Aggies have had in quite some time, and it will no doubt be a sour note to end on for a lot of fans. There's still a lot of excitement ahead with the portal and recruiting— the Aggies did just pick up a highly-rated defensive lineman today in the midst of all the action— but for now, things will be morose around College Station.
That's especially so because of the number of players who won't be back for the Aggies in the upcoming year. Texas A&M was a very senior-heavy team this season, so losing this one means that the Aggie team we see take the field next will look quite different.
Which players are out of eligibility for Texas A&M after 2025 season ends?
The following players have exhausted their eligibility for the Aggies. It's a pretty long list, with quite a few contributors from this season and previous:
- LB Scooby Williams
- CB Will Lee
- RB Amari Daniels
- CB Tyreek Chappell
- RB Le’Veon Moss
- DE Cashius Howell
- QB Jacob Zeno
- DT Tyler Onyedim
- DT Albert Regis
- RB EJ Smith
- K Randy Bond
- DE Dayon Hayes
- OL Ar’maj Reed-Adams
- OL Trey Zuhn
- OL Reuben Fatheree
- OL Dametrious Crownover
- TE Amari Niblack
- TE Nate Boerkircher
- K Jared Zirkel
That's 12 starters on the list (depending on how you count the six-man offensive line rotation that the Aggies use) and both kickers— but that latter part is probably fine with Aggie fans given the late-season struggles.
That's not all, of course— the Aggies have several players who could leave, but may not, depending on draft considerations.
The following players have not exhausted their eligibility, but fans should watch carefully to see if they decide to move on to the NFL or stay in college.
- WR KC Concepcion
- LB Taurean York
- S Dalton Brooks
- OL Chase Bisontis
- OL Mark Nabou
- DB Dezz Ricks
That's six starters there alone. Mike Elko will have some yeoman's work to do to get them to come back, as the Aggies will need to build around them and others. I doubt KC returns, but the other five could all be players for the Ags in 2026.
Texas A&M is definitely losing some key players after this season, but they have a chance to return a strong core as well. Hopefully, a significant number of players choose to come back after this season, and the Aggies can continue to build experience moving forward.
