KC Concepcion is one of the most impactful transfers to ever play for Texas A&M football, and is on the verge of becoming a first-round NFL draft pick in a matter of months. Yesterday, he got the chance to show his stuff up at the NFL Combine, and you can bet that he was catching eyes— in honesty, he was maybe the most popular name in Indianapolis even before he ran a single drill.
His media availability earlier in the week was the first exposure that many in the wider football world had to hearing him speak, and so many found out that KC, as was reported by the Associated Press last September, has dealt with a stutter for his whole life.
It's a difficulty he has done well to overcome in his life, and he now faces press availability with confidence, knowing his story can inspire others— and a story one Aggie fan shared shows just how inspiring he can be.
Heartwarming KC Concepcion story goes viral for all the best reasons
One X account tweeted out a video of KC speaking at his press availability with a reminder that KC has been dealing with this lifelong problem, and it was an occasion for an Aggie fan to jump in and share their personal story about Concepcion, which you can read in full at this link or in the post below.
My husband and I are both Aggies and we try to go at least a couple of games a year. Our youngest son also stutters and has since age 3. After hearing KC’s first post game press thing, my husband and I wondered if he might also have a stutter, and then it was confirmed a few days… pic.twitter.com/wbXUn0hBLX

It truly is heartwarming to see KC immediately come up to this young man and encourage him through the struggle that they share. It clearly was highly impactful, as you can tell from the conclusion to the story— your sports hero giving you this kind of attention and encouragement is a huge moment.
This also just goes to show how great of a human being KC is. Not every big time athlete would take a moment out of their pregame preparation to do something like this, but Concepcion showed he's the exceptional person who would do so. The Aggies will miss having a guy like that in their locker room, but some NFL franchise will be very lucky to get him on their roster.
