Here's what Texas A&M football's portal wish list should look like ahead of the early transfer window
Texas A&M football needs an infusion of offensive talent. After Le'Veon Moss went down against South Carolina, it was a long year for the Aggies on the offensive side of the ball, leading to a 1-3 record in November.
Defensive regression was a factor as well, but Collin Klein was clearly very limited as a playcaller with what the Ags were able—more, more aptly, unable—to do down the stretch of the year. There's simply more skill talent needed on that side of the ball.
Particularly when it comes to receiver, A&M could use a step up in explosiveness. Here's what the Aggies' portal wish list should look like at the position.
Possible portal WRs who Texas A&M football should be looking at: Shelton Sampson
A former five-star receiver, Sampson has gotten very little playing time at LSU. What he did have was a front-row seat to the raucous Kyle Field environment that helped overcome the Tigers earlier in the season.
Sampson is a true X receiver with plus height and length, and some real go-up-and-get-it ability. In other words, he's exactly the kind of guy that Aggie fans have seen LSU pump out carbon copies of for the last ten years.
His list came down to the Aggies and the Tigers when he committed the first time around, but being a Louisiana guy, there was never much hope for the Ags initially. With some interesting times afoot in Baton Rouge, though, maybe A&M can pull him in if he decides to jump ship.
