How Jerry Jones and Dallas Cowboys can do a huge favor for Texas A&M football after Mike McCarthy's exit

Sharing a state with the most valuable sports franchise in the world, it's not a stretch to say that every Texas A&M football fan has already heard that the Dallas Cowboys have parted ways with Mike McCarthy. The talks reportedly broke down after an inability to agree on a new deal emerged between the two parties.

Naturally, anyone who follows football has already begun to wonder who America's Team will hire next. Jerry Jones, as both owner and general manager, has a history of questionable decisions (to put it kindly), so the confidence of Cowboys fans has to be pretty low.

Most hires on the table for the Cowboys would really have no effect on the Aggies. Texas A&M football is in a different world— by all accounts, Jones will be looking to other NFL circles rather than the college ranks.

But there's one possibility that would benefit Texas A&M football quite a bit. Before the playoffs, reports began to emerge that Steve Sarkisian would receive interest from the NFL ranks, being a hot name at the moment.

Now, Sark has had an NFL career before. It was... inauspicious. But would such a decision lead to higher ticket sales and more eyes on the Cowboys in the immediate future? I think the answer to that question is clear, and it's one that would cause Jones to give this possibility a lot of though.

I don't think Sark would succeed in Dallas. But this move, though it may be unlikely, would destabilize a major rival— one who has struggled to close on their first choices for coach in each of their past few searches— and give the Ags a leg up in the immediate future.
