Key players for Texas A&M vs. Arkansas
Marcel Reed
Reed is going to be on this list until he proves that his play is more of a guarantee. As of right now, Reed is one not only one of the most inconsistent players on the Texas A&M roster— he's one of the most inconsistent players in the nation. Arkansas will be a much easier test for him than was LSU— the Razorbacks have given up over 10 yards per attempt to both Power 4 opponents thus far this year— but he still needs to prove he can go out there and make it happen.
Dezz Ricks
Improbably, Arkansas brings in the conference's leading receiver by yardage in Chris Marshall. The former A&M signee will be looking to make a huge splash in his return to Kyle Field, and Ricks should be the one tasked with shutting him down. Dezz is coming off of his worst game of the year against LSU, one in which he got burned way too much, so he has to have a chip on his shoulder going against Marshall.
KJ Edwards
For whatever you can say about Reed needing to get back on track, you can say more about A&M needing to commit to the run game. It's the one piece of the team that is actually working consistently on offense, and if A&M wants to generate more explosivity, handing the rock to no. 0 is the way.
Key players for Arkansas vs. Texas A&M
KJ Jackson
The Arkansas quarterback is maybe the only signal caller in the conference playing worse than Marcel Reed. Against an A&M secondary that has become shockingly porous, though, he could be looking to have a huge day, especially coming off of a solid performance against Tulsa.
Chris Marshall
Marshall's Aggie career in Kyle Field consisted of four receptions for 41 yards against Sam Houston State. He'll be looking to leave those numbers in the dust in this one; he had a remarkably big day against Georgia, and an even bigger day against Tulsa in the previous game, recording 136 and 195 yards in those contests respectively.
Quincy Rhodes, Jr.
The senior defensive lineman for the Hogs is second on the team in tackles for loss and is one of the few SEC-quality players in the front seven for Ryan Silverfield's outfit. A&M has been most vulnerable on the interior of the offensive line, so expect the Hogs to line up Rhodes in different gaps attempting to exploit that.
