After statement series against Arkansas, Jace LaViolette receives Player Of The Week honors from SEC
This Texas A&M baseball team is still basking in the glow of a huge series win over Arkansas this past weekend. The Ags rolled into Fayetteville as hot as any team in the country and took two out of three games from the no. 2-ranked squad in the land— and they had a great shot at winning a third if not for a pitching breakdown.
Leading that charge for the Aggies, as you might expect, was their stud outfielder Jace LaViolette. Though Lord Tubbington had a slow start to the year, his recent breakout in play has the Aggies in a great spot moving forward.
This weekend, against a strong pitching staff in Arkansas, LaViolette showed out. Texas A&M baseball put out his numbers in a recent tweet:
Lord Tubbington had himself a weekend 👑

That would be impressive over any three-game stretch, much less against Dave Van Horn's second-ranked Razorbacks. LaViolette has faced down the best college baseball has to offer, though, and he showed no fear going up against the Hogs in this one.
That strong stretch of play from Jace was enough to earn him SEC Player of the Week honors today, as he was honored alongside Texas's Kimble Schuessler.

LaViolette and Schuessler will be two of the headliners on the diamond in this weekend's rivalry series in Austin. These honors leading into what will without a doubt be a dynamic weekend only sweeten the pot for a three-game stretch that is the biggest on the college baseball calendar this year.
That's for this weekend, though— for now, though, Jace has earned his flowers. Hopefully he puts up just as good of a performance, or even better, this weekend in the most important series that the Aggies will have played yet this year.
