Johnny Manziel abandoning Kyle Field for the one game that could pull him away

With Texas A&M ranked as the No. 6 team in the country, plenty of eyes will be inside Kyle for what should be a great matchup with Mississippi State. Fans are hoping to see the Aggies clean up their silly mistakes, and there's not a better way to make up for it at home again in a packed house.

Aggies legend Johnny Manziel has decided to not return back to his roots, and instead, in a wild move that nobody saw coming, has elected to coach up Diego Pavia as he gets set to play Alabama.

Pavia is becoming one of the more popular faces in college football, and it looks Manziel wants Pavia to have his defining moment, just like he did against Alabama back in 2012.

This is bizarre to see, and it's not just that Johnny is missing a primetime Aggie game— electing to be on the Vandy sideline is wild.

Aggies fans very well know that Manziel mania started back in 2012 when the Aggies came to Tuscaloosa to face the undisputed No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide. A team full of legends like Nick Saban, Eddie Lacy, Amari Cooper and Vinnie Sunseri made it almost impossible for anybody to bet against. The only exception was a magician called 'Johnny Football.'

I get why Manziel is making the move, but Vandy beating Bama wouldn't hit fans as hard as Texas A&M beating Bama back in 2012. Vandy beat the Tide last season, and with the way Pavia is playing, Vandy isn't playing like the little brother anymore.

There is some 'Johnny Football' inside Pavia— he's named the Aggie Heisman winner as one of his favorite players, after all— and this could truly be the defining moment in Pavia's career. There's not going to be much surprise for the fans in Nashville if they pull this off, because they've already done it before, and the Tide are vulnerable compared to just a few years back.

This is an interesting development in college football. Let's see if Johnny's presence can spur Pavia on to a win in this one.
