Key position group for Texas A&M's 2025 success getting national love ahead of season

Texas A&M has had one position group that has had a lot of trouble over the past few years. If they live up to this prediction, though, the sky is the limit.

It's no coincidence that Texas A&M's best season in recent memory came on the strength of an excellent offensive line unit. The Aggies were able to put together an offensive front in 2020 that combined skill with experience and seniority, making a potent mix that led to them having one of the best offensive lines in the entire country.

The Aggies have really been all over the place at that position group since that year, though. The 2021 season was a mixed bag, 2022 was an unmitigated disaster, and 2023 was mostly disaster with some bright spots. 2024, however, while still coming with some warts, was a big step in the right direction.

The run game with Le'Veon Moss looked a lot better, and for the most part, the pass protection was a lot better as well— especially when the Aggies didn't have a third-string guard out on the field. With almost all of the key players returning for A&M, then, it should be no surprise that they are being regarded as one of the best OL in the entire country.

Texas A&M ranked as third-best offensive line in nation, portending huge season for Aggies

I've mentioned a couple of times that the Aggies' OL play will dictate how their season goes. If this chart is anything to go by, then, this year will be a big success for the Ags:

A&M comes in at third on this list of luminaries, and is one of three SEC teams that appear. The Aggies play Florida, who I'm a bit more skeptical on, at Kyle Field this year, and so we'll get to see that matchup face to face.

The bottom line is this: the experience and quality of play that's coming back to Texas A&M this year is remarkable, and should be a huge point of encouragement to Aggie fans who are considering the team's prospects for wins in the coming year. If the Ags truly do play like they're the third-best offensive line in the nation, then A&M will be surprising a lot of people down the stretch of the year.
