Texas A&M's litany of prospects for this upcoming NFL draft has every analyst talking ahead of the names actually being called later this week. Texas A&M has no surefire first rounders after Cashius Howell's draft stock dropped earlier this offseason, but they still stand a chance of seeing several players selected in the first 32 picks.
The latest NFL mock draft from ESPN's Jordan Reid, however, is all in on Texas A&M prospects landing in the first round. Reid sees three Texas A&M stars landing in the first round— further than any other outlet has gone with their predictions for the Aggies when it comes to the draft.
If this prediction comes to pass, it would be the first time since 2014 that the Aggies had that many first-round selections. That year, of course, saw Mike Evans, Jake Matthews, and Johnny Manziel all selected in the first round.
Texas A&M predicted to have three first-round selections in upcoming NFL Draft
That would be solid enough for the Aggies, but Reid goes even further with his poisitivity towards Texas A&M. He has 12 Texas A&M players being selected overall in the draft— which would set a record in a big way for the program.
Here is his full projection for Texas A&M players in the NFL Draft:
Round 1:
- Pick 21 - Pittsburgh Steelers: KC Concepcion
- Pick 31 - New England Patriots: Cashius Howell
- Pick 32 - Seattle Seahawks: Chase Bisontis
Round 3
- Pick 81 - Jacksonville Jaguars: Tyler Onyedim
Round 4
- Pick 105 - New York Giants: Trey Zuhn
- Pick 114 - Philadelphia Eagles: Will Lee
- Pick 136 - New Orleans Saints: Albert Regis
- Pick 139 - San Francisco 49ers: Dametrious Crownover
Round 5
- Pick 141 - Houston Texans: Nate Boerkircher
Round 7
- Pick 218 - Dallas Cowboys: Le'Veon Moss
- Pick 245 - Jacksonville Jaguars: Taurean York
- Pick 255 - Green Bay Packers: Ar'maj Reed-Adams
Scooby Williams and Tyreek Chappell don't land in this projection, but both stand a chance of landing in the late rounds.
Even so, I think a lot of Texas A&M fans would be pretty satisfied if the draft played out in the way this projection is putting forth. Twelve players off the board with three of those coming in the first round would make the Aggies the story of the draft, without a doubt.
