Texas A&M's schedule for the upcoming 2026 season is a source of a lot of chatter, both among Aggie fans and haters for the same reason. The Aggie faithful and their detractors alike both recognize that the draw for Texas A&M in conference this upcoming year is far more difficult than it was in 2025.
With the nine-game conference schedule now in effect for the SEC, that is going to be the case for nearly every single SEC team, of course. It should also be noted that, going into last season, many Aggie haters saw their schedule as too tough to overcome, with road games at Notre Dame, LSU, and Texas— and now we hear that same refrain once again.
That has led many who oppose Texas A&M to proclaim that there is no way the Aggies can repeat their win total from last year, while A&M fans are more optimistic about it. Tonight's schedule announcement from the SEC, revealing the kickoff windows for each game throughout the year, has only boosted that optimism, however.
Texas A&M gets kickoff time benefit in several key road games per latest schedule release
The SEC released the kickoff windows for the conference game schedule in 2026 this evening, and the Aggies' draw was a pleasant surprise to many Texas A&M fans. Several of these were already known, but there are definitely a lot of things worth discussing in here.

The two road games that most assumed would be at night when this schedule dropped were LSU and South Carolina. Per this release, though, the only one of those two that has that possibility is LSU, as it was given the "Flex" designation, meaning that it will either be an afternoon or a night game.
The curse of late-night games in Columbia, SC, has apparently been broken, though: the Aggies will play the Gamecocks in an afternoon slot in Columbia for the first time since 2018. The Aggies have lost their last two road games against South Carolina, both of which have been night games in early November, so that was a slot that many Aggie fans were watching closely.
Alabama is given the flex designation as well, so Texas A&M fans should expect that one to be a night game in Tuscaloosa unless the season goes far different than expected for one or both teams. That currently looks like it will be the toughest game on this entire schedule.
The pleasant surprises here, though (besides that of the timing for the South Carolina game) are the timings of the Missouri and Oklahoma games. Mizzou can be a tricky place to play, but most Aggie fans thought that was a very winnable game— but going to OU the penultimate weekend of the season, right before the Lone Star Showdown, was a treacherous spot.
Having that game as an early kick helps out a ton for the Aggies here. Texas A&M has not been up to Norman since 2011, and that has the potential to be a very hyped matchup late in the year, so getting that as an early kick to help tone down the crowd factor is big.
For as tough as the schedule is matchup-wise, the Aggies certainly got some help with these kickoff times. It may be a small help, but it's notable nonetheless.
