Trevor Lawrence credits Texas A&M football's Kyle Field as loudest environment he's encountered

Texas A&M football fans regularly contend that Kyle Field is one of the most underrated environments in all of college football. The Home of the 12th Man is one of the best places to catch a game in the entire sport— a fact that's obvious to anyone who's ever visited.

That doesn't just go for fans, either. Opposing players and coaches regularly give props to Kyle Field as one of the best home environments in the entire nation. Nick Saban has repeatedly mentioned how hard it was for his Alabama teams to succeed against the 12th Man, which is some high praise from a legendary figure in college football.

You can add one more well-known name to the mix of people that hold Kyle Field in high regard. Trevor Lawrence was recently asked about the loudest environment that he's ever experienced as a visiting quarterback, and he jumped directly to the Home of the 12th Man.

Clemson came knocking to Kyle Field in the second game of 2018— a contest that also happened to be the second-ever game of Jimbo Fisher's tenure as Texas A&M football coach. Though Kelly Bryant started the game for the Tigers, Trevor Lawrence also saw a decent share of snaps.

Bryant ended up being the more successful quarterback throughout the game, but Lawrence had a few bright moments. Later in the game, he looked rattled, however— no doubt due to the crowd effect he mentions here.

Of course, as the caption of the above tweet alludes to, this game ended up being all but decided on a controversial touchback call. Quartney Davis's fumble was determined by the referees to exit through the end zone, and though replay review cast a lot of doubt, the call was not overturned.

That gave the Tigers the ultimate upper hand— and even though the Aggies came within feet of tying the game on a two-point conversion a possession later, Clemson exited victorious. This was much to the chagrin of a packed house in Kyle Field, of course, and still abides in the memory of many Aggie fans.

Despite the outcome, though, Kyle Field clearly was well-represented on the night in question. The Home of the 12th Man is a storied venue, and things like this only add to that mythos.
