On a positive note, it’s considered likely that Weeks will be back for the Tigers’ next game, which is against No. 4 Alabama, per sources. pic.twitter.com/FbHyZF6qOs
Weeks is one of the best defenders on this LSU team— though he's had a down year in 2025 by this metric, he was the leading tackler for the Tigers last season by far. He plays the "quarterback of the defense" role for the Bayou Bengals, making sure the defense is aligned and players know what's coming from the opposing offense.
For a defense that has already struggled with misdirection and motion, losing Weeks could be a pretty big blow for this game. It certainly cost them when he missed last week's game against Vanderbilt, as the Tiger defense was consistently thrown off track by the difficult-to-follow Vandy offense.

Given how much the Tigers had issues with the quarterback run against Vanderbilt, not to mention Marcel Reed last year, this could lead to the Aggies having a lot of room on the ground in the QB run game. Especially if the outside corners for the Tigers are occupied in man coverage, Reed could find some green grass pretty easily and make things happen with his legs.
Blake Baker will likely have Harold Perkins spying Reed to attempt to neutralize that, but Reed is particularly elusive, so he'll get his even against the extremely athletic Perkins. Plus, if Klein's scheme is constantly putting Perkins in conflict, he may not exactly be playing downhill all game, hesitating again and again at the eye candy Klein puts in the play.
This is yet another good sign for a Texas A&M team that just keeps matching up better with the Tigers. Hopefully, they can take full advantage and establish some dominance on the ground in this game, grinding out their first win in Baton Rouge since joining the SEC back in 2012.
