There were plenty of Texas A&M football fans who were ready to hit the panic button on Saturday. In the showdown for the Aggies going up against Utah State, a game A&M was dominating, star quarterback Marcel Reed went down after taking an awkward hit.
Reed was clearly shaken up a bit on the play, but he managed to get up and walk off the field under his own power. He was immediately taken into the medical tent for further evaluation. To say people were worried would be a pretty huge understatement.
However, some good news has come in that sure provides a ton of relief. According to sideline reporter Alyssa Lang of the SEC Network, Reed avoided a serious injury and he would have been 'available' had the Aggies needed him. However, with the game out of hand, the team decided to take him back to the locker room instead just to check on him. With that said, it indeed looks like he is going to be alright, which is key with Notre Dame up next in Week 3:
SEC Network sideline reporter Alyssa Lang said Texas A&M QB Marcel Reed is available but "unlikely" return to this game. Said Reed is OK, but A&M had him go to the locker room to "check him over one more time."

Texas A&M QB Marcel Reed avoided a serious injury in Week 2 vs. Utah State
Before going down with his injury, Reed was once again putting on a show for the SEC side. The star quarterback was 19-of-28 for 230 yards and three touchdowns, while adding 65 yards and another score on the ground.
It was just another strong day at the office for Reed, who was downright brilliant in Week 1. Last week, he tossed for 289 yards and four touchdowns. Time and time again, Reed reminds everyone that he's one of the top signal-callers in the SEC, which was why so many people were worried when he got hurt.
Again, a major disaster has been averted for the Aggies, who will enter their Week 3 tilt with the Irish and Marcus Freeman at 2-0. The matchup between the two powerhouses is one that people have had circled on their calendars for quite some time. Reed will be fired up to make a statement in that one too.
