Texas A&M football's supposed bounce back game ended in a 35-31 loss against USC.

There were some late injury updates right before the game, but USC also had some guys out in this game, including their starting quarterback, Miller Moss, who transferred a few weeks ago.

The peak for the Aggies was a 24-7 lead in the third quarter. From there, though, USC put the pedal to the metal.

Here's what Elko and others had to say following a disappointing loss.

Mike Elko on defense as a whole

"We got to be able to stop the run and pressure the quarterback and we don't do either of those really well."

Mike Elko's bold statement on defense

"I won't watch the defense play like that ever again."

Noah Thomas on past culture for Aggie football

"The past couple of years before (Elko) coming, we had some culture issues, so we had to get that all figured out first and then try to work with what we got."

Noah Thomas on motivation to win Las Vegas Bowl

"We really wanted this one, we were trying to use this one as the first win of the season next year, so I mean, it's going to drive us, push us hard every time we fixing to give up, we got to think about times like this, we got to push through, win, win these games."

Cashius Howell on areas of improvement

"I would say we definitely improved as far as our mental toughness as a team improved. The things I think we need to improve on is attention to detail. We got too complacent and it came back to bite us."

Cashius Howell on talk vs. play

"We got to play ball. We can't keep talking about it and then when it comes down to it, just shrivel up and shy away from it. As an overall team, we just got to play football better."
