Huge stuff here.

Cooper Witten, the son of future Hall of Fame tight end Jason Witten, is a five-star linebacker in the class of 2027, and has been a highly-coveted player for the Aggies for quite some time now. Recently, Witten was seen with Mike Elko visiting Texas A&M— a huge deal.

This is a huge curveball considering Jason Witten just signed up to be the tight ends coach at Oklahoma, making Cooper's commitment almost automatic, right? This could be for publicity on Elko's part, and if so, that's genius. Either way, it's a question that Texas A&M fans have to ask.

Can Elko really pull off the impossible here? Not only is everybody expecting Cooper to follow in his father's footsteps, but Cooper is an extraordinary two-way player. Cooper is the No. 1 LB in the country and the No. 4 player in Texas in the class of 2027.

Do we need to say more? Cooper, who also plays tight end, is a generational athlete who will instantly help any team. The five-star athlete currently plays at Liberty Christian, just outside Dallas. His dad, Jason, won back-to-back state championships as the head coach in 2023 and 2024.

Some A&M fans might say to hold the phone, considering Cooper is only going to choose what best fits him at the end of the day. All of the blue blood schools are going for him, but the 247 Sports crystal ball has him at Oklahoma for obvious reasons.

Cooper still has one more season at Liberty Christian, but he's been at the top of the 2027 leaderboard for a while now. On RallyPreps, he's the No. 1 player in the Texas 2027 rankings.

Cooper is already familiar with the A&M defensive staff and Elko, as their relationship has been solid for some time now. This would be massive and would help Elko along in building a championship program, but Cooper still has a lot of time to decide what's best for him.
