Texas A&M has made yet another move to fill out their offensive coaching staff, as Billy Liucci reports that Mike Elko has added Coastal Carolina offensive coordinator Drew Hollingshead to the Aggie staff as an offensive analyst. Hollingshead comes to the Aggies as a coach on a rapid ascent, as he has moved from a position coach to an offensive coordinator, and now joins the Aggies' staff for a chance to coach in the nation's top league.
Hollingshead played under former Aggie coach Kevin Sumlin while at Houston, and his father, Tam, worked for RC Slocum as an assistant coach in Aggieland— so the Texas A&M ties run deep here. His Air Raid background is unimpeachable, as he not only played under Sumlin, but under Kliff Kingsbury as well, and coached under Mike Leach in both Pullman and Starkville.

With the departure of Collin Klein and promotion of Holmon Wiggins in Mike Elko's program, there's been a lot of questions about how exactly the offense will look moving forward. For all his experience, Wiggins has never been a play caller before, nor a guy who is primarily responsible for developing an offensive gameplan against opponents.
Adding Hollingshead to the staff puts another voice in the room that not only has experience under the greats of the sport, but a guy who has experience doing those things that Wiggins may currently lack. That's nothing but a positive from here, and it shows that Mike Elko's commitment to building an elite staff in every respect is not just lip service.
It's not yet clear what exact role Hollingshead will have on this Aggie offensive staff, but when the announcement is made official, that will be no doubt revealed. For now, it's exciting to know that Mike Elko has added yet another coach on the ascent to his staff, and continues to make his program one of the top in the sport.
