As Texas A&M prepares for Missouri, Mike Elko puts into perspective how the SEC has been intense this season.

SEC fans remember the past decade or so how Alabama would use to roll past plenty of SEC teams. That hasn't been the case this season. All the proof you need is in these games this year. Even though Auburn just fired Hugh Freeze, look at them staying in it against Oklahoma the entire game. Vanderbilt has taken the league by storm, with one-score losses against Alabama and Texas. Ole Miss and Georgia were in a battle for all 60 minutes.

Elko tells us that the SEC competition this season has been vastly different from 10 years prior. It's not the same conference anymore, and Elko has the receipts to prove it.

Elko says one-score games have been at a high level this season in SEC

As much as fans want to make fun of Oklahoma and Texas for changing the landscape of college football entirely, the competition has produced some really intense games over the past two seasons.

The Aggies' season has been anything but a fluke, and SEC fans are starting to realize that after seeing the Ags taking Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers back to school. This isn't the same conference where Alabama would beat Vanderbilt by 40, because let's be honest, this is the kind of game Elko was talking about in the past.

No one is handed anything easy in the game of football, and with the competition being more intense than ever before, this explains just how great Texas A&M really is. They still have a ways to go before the season concludes, but they are in a great spot right now to finish an extremely memorable regular season.
