Since the Florida game back in mid-October, Le'Veon Moss has been out with an ankle injury. With Texas A&M finishing with an 11-1 record, it clearly hasn't been the end of the world for the Aggies, and they've been able to adjust without Moss in the lineup.

That thought has changed for Mike Elko, as he was candid about the strength of what the Miami defense will bring.

"They're a challenge. I don't know that it's possible to pick them apart. They're really big and physical up front. They've got NFL talent all over the place on that defense, especially in the front four. They're big, they're fast, they're athletic. I think they're going to present a ton of challenges to us."

Mike Elko quietly reveals he will need Le'Veon Moss against the ferocious Miami defense

Rueben Owens II has been solid as the RB1, and Jamarion Morrow has looked like a true reliable backup, but fans want one early Christmas wish, and that's to have Moss back in time for the playoffs.

The initial report of Moss being out for a "significant time" may vary depending on who you ask, but the fact is, the Aggies need him. Not just for the Miami game, but if they want a true shot to advance to a semifinal, they will need their true RB1.

Elko is right, too. Rueben Bain Jr. is the ACC Defensive Player of the Year, and he's been one of the premier defenders over the past three seasons. He might present the biggest challenge for the Texas A&M offensive line this season.

We will know more about Moss once we get closer to game week, but one thing giving A&M fans some hope was on an episode of "The Pulse," where Moss was in uniform, participating in practice. Elko's last update on Moss was when he told us Moss would be unlikely to play in Texas.

Texas A&M did all that they could to hold the fort down while Moss was gone, but now, it's time to face reality. They really need him.
