Mike Elko's instant injury update for Ar'maj Reed-Adams is a relief for Aggies

There was a lot of concern here due to just how important Reed-Adams is to this football team.

Texas A&M fans were worried all day about the conspicuous absence of Ar'maj Reed-Adams— one of the premier members of this stellar Aggie offensive line— on the field today. Trey Zuhn was slid down to the center position for much of the day due to the recalibration that Reed-Adams's absence required, which the broadcast made much of.

What the broadcast didn't cover was the injury itself. Offensive line is not one of the most visible positions on the football field, of course, but with how important Reed-Adams is to the position group— likely the best position group on the A&M football team— it probably deserved some mention.

Injuries down the stretch of last year were extremely deleterious for the Aggie football team, so A&M fans are hoping that the same doesn't happen this year. Luckily, at least at first blush, it looks like Reed-Adams has avoided anything serious, according to Mike Elko.

Injury update: Ar'maj Reed-Adams "should be fine" according to Mike Elko, despite missing majority of Mizzou game

Elko addressed Reed-Adams's absence from this game in his presser, giving Aggie fans a huge sigh of relief after all their worry.

That's a much-needed update from coach Elko, as Reed-Adams is really a huge part of what is definitely the heart and soul of this Aggie football team: the offensive line. His addition last season via the transfer portal immediately brought a different attitude and edge to this squad— something that now permeates not only that position group, but the entire program.

He brings a lot of the spirit that makes this Aggie team so special, in other words. Though they're at a place now where others can bear the torch if he has to miss time, you don't want to be missing a guy who is such a vocal leader in the locker room and on the field, and it looks like the Aggies lucked out in that respect.

Elko will no doubt give a more thorough update at his Monday presser, but for now, things seem good. That was the last lingering cloud of concern for Aggie fans, who can now fully celebrate a huge 21-point victory over Missouri.
