Texas A&M defeated Auburn today to move to 4-0 in a season for the first time in nearly a decade— a massive achievement, even if the way they got there was a little bit ugly.

It was the lack of scoring production and offensive rhythm that a lot of reporters were focusing on in the postgame, however, leaving Mike Elko a little bit befuddled. He decided to speak out about it during the presser, but the way in which he did so will have Aggie fans struggling to hold back laughter.

If you don't recall, Brian Kelly had an encounter with a reporter recently following the Bayou Bengals' win over Florida where he sort of blew up at the press for asking about their consistent offensive issues. It hilariously culminated in him, in his uniquely unlikeable way, calling the reporter "spoiled" in the same way a schoolteacher may a kindergartner who is complaining about not having enough toys.

Mike Elko subtly throws shade at Brian Kelly with playful jab at media in postgame presser

Elko had similar sentiments in his presser— wondering why everyone was focusing on the negative, at least— but he, of course, expressed them in a way that made him seem far less strange, using his trademark brand of dry humor.

I'm not sure that he went into that question thinking he would include a nod to the Tigers' head coach, but he thought quickly on his feet to make sure it was clear that he was not, in fact, doing an impression of the head man in Baton Rouge. It's probably good he said that, though, as everyone in the room was likely thinking it.

You can tell he has a better relationship with the media by the chuckles that were going through the room right after he made his comment. Of course, that probably has to do with the fact that no matter whether he intended to drag Kelly into this answer or not, he ended up having to do so by virtue of the content of his answer.

This will no doubt re-emerge as something of a storyline when the Aggies go to visit LSU. They already feel like they have a couple of scores to settle, and they'll find anything to add fuel to the fire.
