Mixed fan reactions on what could get ugly for Notre Dame quicker than we thought

This could not be what Notre Dame expected at all to begin the season.

Texas A&M and Notre Dame have been in two different worlds the past two weeks. The Aggies have done their job, defeating UTSA and Utah State by comfortable margins while the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are still grasping at their loss against the Miami Hurricanes.

Notre Dame had to start out with against another top 10 team while the Aggies, let's admit, have started out the season with some easier ones. With both teams finally meeting their competition, this is a chance for the Aggies to really show what they're made of in a hostile environment. Fans are already expressing their thoughts on social media.

Some fans are confident for the Aggies and the Irish, respectively, and some are smack talking, but it's safe to say that all-around, we're expecting a great football game.

Mixed fan reaction on Aggies-Irish from social media

This is kind of the smack talk that we expected. Texas A&M hasn't played in a conference championship since their miracle win against Kansas State in 1998 in the Big 12. Notre Dame got a chance during the COVID season, when they got to compete in the ACC Championship, where they fell to Clemson.

The 'ghost' seems to have the Ags on top by a touchdown. It could be one of those games where it could be rugged, with both offense struggling for much of the game.

As fans enjoy making fun of Texas A&M's failures, one individual said that it would be more funnier if Notre Dame started out at 0-2 on the year.

Apparently, Irish Spring Soap got in the middle of this week too. On Mike Elko's weekly radio show, he was asked if the soap was going to be banned in the locker room this week.

On The Pat McAfee Show, McAfee was on with 'Stanford Steve,' saying that something historically is going to have to give if the Aggies want to win.

This could get extremely ugly for Notre Dame quickly, but for the Aggies, they have less to lose, as a loss wouldn't go in the SEC loss column. The Irish are more in a must-win scenario than the Aggies, because this would be the first time since 1997 that we would see an 0-2 Irish team.
