Texas A&M football has made some major recruiting moves this weekend after a star-studded slate of visits, but Aggie fans everywhere were focused on one name: Lamar Brown.

The unicorn of an ATH prospect who plays both offensive and defensive line would be a tough pull to get out of Louisiana, especially considering he essentially attends high school on LSU's campus, but the Aggies have been a massive presence in his recruitment since day one, meaning this visit could be the most pivotal yet.

It's looking like the long hours that this staff has put in towards landing a commitment from Brown may be close to paying off. The Aggies, by all accounts, have hit this one out of the park, as Brown has had social media buzzing while on the trip. Now, though a commitment has still not yet come to pass officially, things are trending in a Maroon and White direction without a doubt.

Five-star Texas A&M target Lamar Brown cancels LSU visit after weekend in College Station

Lamar Brown has officially canceled his LSU visit that was supposed to be this upcoming weekend, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3.

This news came directly in the wake of this weekend's visit to College Station, meaning that the Aggies appear to be in a really favorable spot here. Texas A&M has battled for Brown's commitment for quite a while now, and with the date coming up soon where he'll announce his intentions, they look like they're in a great spot.

Of course, Brown has yet to actually announce anything, and even if he does give the Aggies his verbal commitment, there's still work to be done.

A&M will have to have a stellar season this fall if they want to capitalize on the momentum we're currently seeing on the trail. That's easier said than done, especially with this specific recruitment. Since LSU and Texas A&M were considered the finalists here, and given the tough spot in which A&M will face LSU on their schedule, a Tigers win over the Aggies could prove deleterious in this regard.

However, it's better to have a guy committed than not, so Aggie fans will still be looking forward to July 10 with anticipation, when Brown is scheduled to announce. Hopefully, things turn out the way every Aggie fan is thinking.
