Texas A&M legend Myles Garrett is one of the most prominent former Aggie players in the NFL today, and he's currently in the middle of a massive season for the Cleveland Browns. Garrett is lapping the field at the moment when it comes to sacks, holding 19 through Sunday's games— meaning he is now on track for the greatest season in NFL history in that respect.

Myles has never been a me-first kind of player, of course— though he's a superstar, he's also a humble guy. As further evidence of that fact, he decided to use his platform with the NFL's "My Cause, My Cleats" initiative to turn the spotlight to someone else— somebody with Texas A&M ties.

Texas A&M fans will recall the story of Luke Laufenberg, the son of Dallas Cowboys color commentator Babe Laufenberg, who joined the Aggie team as a walk-on tight end in 2016— Myles's last year in Aggieland. The two became quick friends, but in 2019, Luke passed away from a rare form of cancer at the young age of 21. In this week's game, with Luke's father in attendance, Garrett honored Luke with a custom design on his cleats, honoring his friend and helping his memory to live on.

Myles mentions in this TV spot on the story that he regularly wears a wristband to commemorate Luke's life and story in games, but this is the first time he did so with a pair of cleats.

You can see in the video below how much this means to Luke's father, who was able to attend the Browns game since the Cowboys played last Thursday:

No matter who you're a fan of— Browns or Cowboys, Aggies or Longhorns— this is a story that we can all unite around. This is an extremely heartwarming gesture by Myles, and it shows the kind of person that he is.

Being one of the most prominent and visible players in the entire league, bringing this kind of attention to Luke is no small gesture on Garrett's part. This was clearly very meaningful to the Laufenberg family.
