Texas A&M football recruiting is right in the sweet spot at the moment. The Aggies, since Elko arrived on campus, have figured out a great blend of high-level recruiting in both the high school ranks and the transfer portal, earning a place among the teams with top-10 classes in both respects last cycle.
Of course, while adding talent through the portal is and will continue to be vital, the lifeblood of any elite program will always be the high school ranks. You need to bring in a healthy amount of high-upside prospects each and every year while supplementing them well through the transfer ranks.
Elko has done an admirable job of keeping the Aggies right in the thick of things for some of the nation's best talent, getting five-star after five-star to campus last spring. It looks like things will be much the same this year, beginning with the nation's top receiver making his way to Aggieland.
Texas A&M football set to receive visit from nation's top receiver Tristen Keys
Tristen Keys, a prospect that Texas A&M football (and every other school in the nation) has been after for quite some time has set his spring lineup of visits, and the Ags have made the cut. The Hattiesburg product has been between the Vols and the Aggies for a lot of this race, and both schools will receive a visit this spring.
🚨NEWS🚨 Tristen Keys, the No. 1 WR in the 2026 class, has scheduled visits to Tennessee, LSU, Texas A&M and Michigan, he tells @SWiltfong_✈️

Keys will see the Aggies third, after visiting both Knoxville and Baton Rouge. After that, he is set to head to Ann Arbor, to check out the Michigan Wolverines.
It won't be easy to bring in a talent like Keys, and even if he were in some world to commit to A&M tomorrow, every suitor would keep the pressure on up until signing day, and likely even afterwards. This is a big step in the right direction, if nothing else, and the Aggies will no doubt be set to impress Keys when he makes it to campus.
