Texas A&M baseball destroys South Carolina for most convincing SEC win of year; Are Aggies back on track?
After the late-game heroics that Texas A&M baseball was in need of last night to win against the Gamecocks, I would have thought that the Ags were in for another nail-biter tonight. After all, even though A&M appears to be on a definite upward trend, things don't happen that quickly, right?
Well, call it a hot evening at the plate... or on the mound... or all over the field. Texas A&M baseball just notched their most convincing conference win of the year— and maybe most convincing overall considering the level of talent they're facing— as they demolished the South Carolina Gamecocks, 17-0.

As you might expect, this one ended in seven. The Gamecocks were helpless against Justin Lamkin, who is throwing better than Ryan Prager right now despite Prager still holding the status of the team's ace. Things are up-and-down as a pitcher, of course, so you can't be hasty, but Lamkin has certainly been impressive as of late.
And then, the bats. Last night's hero, Caden Sorrell, didn't have a huge night, but pretty much everyone else on the team did. Notable among them was the recently-emerged Bear Harrison, who has broken out in a huge way. Out of hibernation, you could say.
In just five short games, the Aggies have jumped from 116 in the RPI all the way to 51. This has been an unbelievable stretch, but it's too soon yet to declare that things are turned around for good. The performance up at Tennessee was convincing, and a series sweep would fully put A&M on high alert for "we're so back" status, but we're not there yet.
We're inching closer, however. Keep the faith, Aggie baseball fans— it might just pay off after all.
