Par for the course this season, Texas A&M baseball falls victim to Sportscenter Top 10 moment

Texas A&M baseball keeps getting the short end of the stick this season, but at least in this instance it was entertaining.

Texas A&M baseball on wrong end of Sportscenter Top 10 catch

Texas A&M baseball has not looked sharp to start this season in the slightest. The Aggies have really struggled out of the gate, going from number one overall in the preseason to now unranked in the polls after amassing a 10-9 record so far.

Of course, as sloppy as the play has been at times, it's not as though the Aggies have caught a ton of breaks. The injuries have been devastating already, with several big time contributors missing the start of the season, and maybe the team's second-best player now out for the year in Gavin Grahovac.

When the Aggies have been competitive, they've not been able to close things out, too: A&M had a chance in every single game against the Alabama Crimson Tide, but they weren't able to win any of the three. In fact, they lost two of them thanks to blunders in the final frame.

In tonight's midweek game against the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders, the Aggies were looking to get back on track. Their bats looked like they had woken up, piling up nine runs through three innings, but they almost had even more— were it not for an Islanders player making a completely unbelievable catch.

You really can't script this stuff. In the one game that the Aggies look like they're getting back on track, a player at a random mid-major school goes and makes a play like this.

The Aggies would go on to win pretty solidly, run-ruling the Islanders by the time the game was over. This was certainly a refreshing result to say the least— Texas A&M baseball fans need something to cheer about after the way the season has gone so far. But I just know that when this play took place, Aggie fans everywhere just threw up their hands— of course we're on the wrong end of it!
