Rendering a verdict on Texas A&M football 2023 portal entries: LT Overton

Here's another Aggie who headed to Alabama. Overton came in as a top recruit from the class of 2022, but he had reclassified from 2023 after having been rated the top overall prospect in that year.

However, Overton never quite made the impact that you'd expect a five-star defensive lineman to make. It appeared that defensive coordinator DJ Durkin didn't quite know how to use Overton, dropping him into coverage at times, and he didn't put up a lot of numbers for the Aggies.

He's been better for the Tide, though, flashing some of the traits that made him so highly-rated coming out of high school. He registered 35 tackles, 3 TFLs, and 2 sacks this year in Tuscaloosa, as well as 9 QB hurries.

Verdict: STARRED
