Rendering a verdict on Texas A&M football 2023 portal entries: Alex Howard

This is one that many may not remember. Howard came in as a transfer from Youngstown State in the first portal window last year, and looked to be a guy that could compete at one of the linebacker spots.

However, in the spring, he ended up transferring out, likely because he didn't see a clear path to playing time with the Ags for his senior year. Elko and company brought in Solomon DeShields, and I doubt any Aggie fan has thought about Howard since.

Well, he ended up at Duke, where all he did was finish second on the team in total tackles and tackles for loss. He was highly productive for the Blue Devils, and a key part of Manny Diaz's defense. In retrospect, this could have been a pretty big loss for the Aggies.

Verdict: STARRED
