Texas A&M passing offense vs. LSU passing defense
If you're judging by the last two weeks, this is a bit of a wildcard matchup. However, I think we get a much better Weigman than we saw last game against Mississippi State. This is a big moment for him, and I think he rises to it—it helps that this is the weakest unit on this LSU team, of course. That said, they are certainly athletic and he'll have to make some things happen early against the press man coverage I anticipate them playing on these still-somewhat-unproven A&M receivers.
Advantage: Texas A&M by 3
Texas A&M rushing offense vs. LSU rushing defense
I think we see the Tigers sell out against the run early in order to try to make Weigman beat them. Whit Weeks is a playmaker LB for the Tigers, but they are a little susceptible in the middle of their line. Klein can scheme run plays with the best of them, so against this boom-or-bust defensive scheme, we could see Moss break some big ones. At least at first, though, it could be tougher than A&M fans are comfortable with to run the ball.
Advantage: Texas A&M by 2
Texas A&M pass protection vs. LSU pass rush
The LSU pass rush is what they've made their name on, but the Aggies have been really solid at avoiding giving them up. A&M has surrendered just 7 sacks in 7 games, while LSU is picking up just over 4 per game. It's a bit worrying, though, that the Tigers only got 3 against a hobbled Taylen Green last week with how susceptible Arkansas is in that regard. We'll find out if it's fool's gold this Saturday, but I'm cautious for now.
