If Texas A&M football has a big year, they could land two players—or even more—in the first round this upcoming draft.

ESPN's Matt Miller's first 2025 NFL mock draft has Conner Weigman, Nic Scourton as first-round draftees

Even though summer is here, the NFL news cycle never ends, as Texas A&M football fans well know. College football is somewhat similar, with spring practice and games followed by conference media days, etc., but no one quite does it like the NFL.

With July getting underway, it's about the most dead time for football that we have on the calendar. That means it's time for lots of projections, predictions, and the like—and ESPN's Matt Miller is here to provide a look at what the first round of next year's NFL draft could look like.

Now, this is subject to a lot of change in a year. The events of this upcoming season could have a significant effect on how accurate these predictions end up being, but it is in large part based on the body of work that these guys have put out there.

There are several names of interest on here for Texas A&M football fans; namely, Conner Weigman and Nic Scourton. Both are on the short list to be first-rounders for Miller, with Weigman mocked at 19 to the Rams and Scourton at 26 to the Bills.

If the Aggies have the kind of year that results in both of these guys being first-round selections, then that means it was likely highly successful—I'm talking double-digit wins at least. These are the key players on each side of the ball, so productive seasons from them mean a high number of wins.

Another name of note for Aggie fans? Evan Stewart is projected to go directly before Weigman, to the Chargers at 18. Now that would be a storyline around College Station.

A guy for the Aggies not yet on the board here that I think would have a great shot at ending up there is Shemar Stewart. He's ready for a breakout year and possesses prototypical NFL traits across the board. A big year from him could shoot him up as far as top-10 consideration, given how he could project. I think scouts would be absolutely gaga over his potential.

It's time for Texas A&M football to be a big player in the NFL draft once more. After years of taking a backseat, I have a good feeling about what they can put into the league in this and upcoming years.
