3 reasons Texas A&M football fans will have offseason hype turned up to the max following Saturday’s spring game

Tomorrow, Texas A&M football’s annual spring game will take place. This is inevitably the forum for speculation, projection, and overreaction… and we’re here for all of it.

The Maroon and White game this year has a particular excitement surrounding it. Not only is it the first game under a new coach, but fans are cautiously optimistic with some high expectations for this fall. The Aggies avoid both Alabama and Georgia, and could boast a team capable of winning every game on their schedule if the chips fall right.

We’ll finally have a look at a Collin Klein-coached offensive unit—one that should be a balm to the souls wearied by years of Jimbo Fisher’s west coast attack. We’ll once again see Mike Elko’s fingerprints on the defensive unit for the Aggies, something Texas A&M football fans have longed for ever since he departed for Durham.

But, of course, it’s just a spring game. Not one that will feature tug-of-war and hot dog-eating contests, of course, but it’s hard to draw a lot of conclusions. Still—there are some things we can look out for.

Even so, I think this Aggie team is about to give us a lot to be excited about. There’s so much potential on this squad (after all, they are one of the most talented rosters in America) and I think they will begin to realize that potential before our very eyes—starting tomorrow.

All that said, where exactly will the hype come from? Let’s make some predictions.
