Despite Inconsistent Day, Offense Shows Promise in Passing Game for Texas A&M Football
Let's say this right off the top. Jahdae Walker? Absolute DAWG.
Walker was unheralded for the most part as a transfer from D2 Grand Valley State, but he quickly made his name known to Aggie fans with a breakout performance in the third game of the year. He didn't see the field a whole lot in the next few contests, and had a rough game against Arkansas, but he has emerged in the latter part of the year as a top-flight receiver.
Walker went down with injury on the Aggies' second drive. He eventually returned to pile up even more yardage in a heroic effort, and tweeted this morning a picture of himself in a sling. This underscored just how valiant his effort was in this one.
This man has future star receiver written all over him. Not only that, he has quickly become an absolute fan favorite among the Aggies. I can't wait to see what he can do in Collin Klein's offense, and with Conner Weigman at the reins.
Let's not forget the man of the hour, though. Marcel Reed played like a champion. Not knowing that he would be forced into the lineup due to an injury to Henderson, he came in and settled in quickly. He showed his scrambling ability and his absolute cannon of an arm (go back and watch that hail mary pass—it's a bullet). The QB room for the Aggies moving forward is going to be a strength, and I can't wait to see Reed get his shot.
