Five things we learned about the SEC: Arkansas is better than we thought, but still not there
Eyebrows were raised around the country in the early window yesterday when the top game of the day saw the Hogs go up by multiple scores on a ranked Oklahoma State team. It didn't take long at all for the Razorbacks to jump out to a lead, but the Cowboys eventually came roaring back.
This one is a box score oddity, as the Cowboys were nearly outgained by double and looked to be outplayed in nigh every single facet of the game. The postgame win expectancy for the Cowboys was a mere 13.8%—but a win is a win.
Meanwhile, for the Hogs, they certainly appear to be far improved from what everyone thought they would be. With Petrino at the helm, Taylen Green is slinging it all over the yard. But with a chance for a statement win, the Hogs were unable to close the deal.
Learning how to win is a real thing. This Arkansas squad hasn't done a lot of it over the last few years. Habits and mentalities have to change. That's a longer-term proposition, of course, but with such a promising start, it would be a real shame to see things come apart at this point.
