FIve toughest player matchups Texas A&M football will have to face in the SEC in 2024
Since joining the SEC, it seems like Texas A&M football, year in and year out, has had to face down a litany of prodigious talent on their conference slate. Of course, that's part of the deal when you play in a conference like this one: the best players come here and make it what it is.
From the legendary run of Alabama defensive linemen like Jonathan Allen, A'Shawn Robinson, and Quinnen Williams, to Joe Burrow and his cadre of receivers at LSU, even to out of conference studs like Clemson's Trevor Lawrence, Tee Higgins, or Christian Wilkins, the Aggies face top-level, first-round talent every week in this conference.
This upcoming year is slated to be no different. Despite evading Georgia and Alabama on the schedule, Texas A&M football still looks to face off against many top players in the conference. There are guys who can be a one-man gameplan wrecker on any given Saturday, whether that comes on the defensive side of the ball or on offense.
I think we're all aware of several of the names in the conference that are drawing first-round level projections for the 2025 NFL draft. I'm less so skewing towards a list like that here, and more so going for guys that, one-on-one, have the ability to ruin an opposing coach's day with the dominance they can exhibit. There will necessarily be some crossover there with guys who project well to the NFL draft, but that's not my main criterion here.
So, which players pose the biggest matchup problems for the Aggies on the 2024 schedule? Let's take a look.
