Biggest matchup problems for Texas A&M football in 2024: Nyck Harbor, WR, South Carolina

This is a name that I think fewer readers will be familiar with, so there's a bit of calling my shot involved here (which is the case with all of the last three on this list, in a way—the last two are freshmen). Regardless, I think this is a guy due for a huge breakout.

Harbor plays at South Carolina, which is a game that many Aggie fans have chalked up as a win in the preseason. That may be a fair evaluation given the relative quality of each team as a whole, but Shane Beamer has actually done a good job of bringing in some impressive, top-line talent to Columbia.

Harbor is maybe the best example of this. Standing at 6'5" and 241 LBs, he is absolutely massive, yet he also boasts unbelievable speed—to the tune of running a 10.2 100m. For context, Devon Achane's record while at Texas A&M in that event was a 10.14.

Despite his huge size, he lines up out wide as a receiver for the Gamecocks. He was a true ATH prospect coming out of high school, with some projecting him as a defensive end and some as a tight end, so he is still learning the position somewhat. With one year under his belt, I expect him to begin to break out here in 2024. He's one that the Aggies should have on their radar coming into that matchup.
