Texas A&M football receives prediction for big time 2024 DL prospect

After the departure of Elijah Robinson, Texas A&M football fans still have high expectations for defensive line recruiting and play in College Station. That’s thanks not only to Mike Elko’s acumen at developing guys in the trenches, but also the hire he made to replace Robinson in Sean Spencer.

Spencer, like Robinson, has overseen many extremely productive units in his time. Not only that, but he is also an ace recruiter, just like the former Aggie interim.

He’s brought in a couple of names so far, including a big flip from Miami in Kendall Jackson, but we haven’t been able to see Spencer operating at full capacity yet. The 2025 cycle will provide us that chance, as the Aggies will be sure to vye for the services of many top defensive linemen, capitalizing on what will no doubt be a dominant unit for the team in the upcoming season.

It looks like that first domino may fall sooner rather than later, however. A recent prediction from On3 has Texas A&M football landing DL prospect DJ Sanders out of small-town Bellville, Texas.

Sanders is a prospect that projects pure power. His strength at his current age is almost unbelievable, and is manifestly evident in the tape he puts out. He’s a bit raw as far as technique, but he’s got some attributes that can’t be taught.

If he ends up with the Aggies, they will have a high-upside prospect that “Coach Chaos” can begin to mold into a monster. Sanders is no doubt a priority prospect for this class, and the Aggies would love to get him in the boat.
