Texas A&M Football Lands Final Visit for Coveted 2024 Five-Star HS Prospect
Texas A&M Football Will Be Final Visit for 5 Star ATH Terry Bussey Ahead of National Signing Day
At one point during the 2024 cycle, Texas A&M football boasted three five-star commitments in their class. After the departure of Jimbo Fisher and the almost complete staff turnover, that number is now down to one. WR Cam Coleman flipped to Auburn, and DT Dominick McKinley flipped to LSU; only ATH Terry Bussey now remains.
Even before those announcements, Bussey was viewed as the prize of the class. The uber-athletic player out of Timpson High School is a do-it-all prospect, playing almost every position for his team. He gave a verbal pledge to the Aggies back in August that he has not come off of, but he chose to delay his signing date after Jimbo was let go and Elko was hired.
By all accounts, the Aggies have done a great job working on that relationship in the period since Elko has come along. Ishmael Aristide has taken the lead along with the head man for Texas A&M football, and Bussey has already visited College Station since the change took place.
In some not-so-good news for the Aggies, Bussey will be visiting other campuses before he signs. In some great news, however, it looks like Texas A&M football will be able to get the last word—and it will be an official visit right before signing day.
In contrast to the transfer portal visit schedule, where we've seen that getting the very first visit has been a huge advantage, getting the final visit for a high school prospect usually portends good things. In this case, given the fact that Bussey is still verbally committed (despite visiting other schools), visiting Texas A&M last, and the fact that the Aggies have just signed his cousin, I'm feeling great about the Aggies' chances to land the talented playmaker.
