Five-star Cleveland (OH) safety Trey McNutt III sets official visit date to Texas A&M football

Texas A&M football keeps on adding big names to their visit lists this summer. Coming off of a huge weekend that saw no shortage of highly-skilled players make their way to College Station, yet another five-star has set a date to visit Aggieland soon.

Trey McNutt III, a five-star safety out of Cleveland, Ohio, has set a date to return to Texas A&M football for an official visit, according to On3.

According to the article, McNutt will visit Texas A&M football this weekend, June 14. He also has visits set to Oregon, Ohio State, Florida, and several other schools. The Aggies have a fight on their hands, as you would expect.

McNutt has been to College Station before, and by all accounts, the visit went amazingly. The Aggies hit it out of the park, and if you believe the message board chatter, they are right up there with the leaders in this recruitment.

He is one of two five-star safeties that the Aggies are currently recruiting, with the other being Jonah Williams out of Galveston. Williams visited this past weekend, and the Aggies sit in a great spot there.

Like Williams, McNutt brings a versatile skillset to the table. Whereas Williams can rotate between safety and linebacker, however, McNutt’s coverage skills are advanced enough that he can play corner quite well if needed. This kind of versatility on the back end would be absolutely lethal in a Mike Elko defense.

Can the Aggies go two for two here? It won’t be easy, but they have played their cards right thus far. If they managed to bring both of these guys into the fold, it would mean nightmares for opposing passing attacks going forward. Here’s hoping they do just that.
