Notre Dame’s Charles Jagusah to miss 2024 with injury, leaving Irish down another lineman for opener against Texas A&M football
Ahead of the opener against Texas A&M football, Notre Dame just can’t seem to catch a break. After it was announced that a key DL rotation player for the Irish would miss the opener with an injury, another player for the Irish has now gone down.
Charles Jagusah was slated to be a starter for the Irish out at tackle, taking over for the highly-touted Joe Alt after the latter headed off to the NFL. Jagusah himself was named one of the top 10 players in his class to watch this season for NFL draft junkies, speaking to the high regard in which he is held.
This is a blow to the Irish at a position where they can really ill-afford it. Alt’s play had a lot to do with how successful the Irish were last year, and while there was a lot of hope that Jagusah could rise to the challenge, things now look a lot dimmer along the offensive front.
Especially considering what the Aggies bring to the table on the defensive line, this could be big trouble for the Irish. You don’t want a backup anywhere along the offensive line when you’re facing off against the likes of Nic Scourton, Shemar Stewart, Shemar Turner, or David Hicks—yet, that is the unenviable position in which the Irish now find themselves.
Hopefully, Jagusah can heal up quickly. A torn pectoral muscle is no joke, and the young man has a bright future ahead of him—here’s hoping for a full recovery in time for next season.
