Another weather delay affecting Texas A&M baseball in Omaha—this time positively

Some weather rolling in tonight may give an advantage to this Texas A&M baseball team as they look to advance to the College World Series final.

Weather delay moves Kentucky-Florida to tomorrow morning; is this an advantage for Texas A&M baseball?

In the first game Texas A&M baseball played in Omaha, the final pitch didn’t come until after 1 AM local time. This was thanks to a four-hour weather delay—the game against the Florida Gators, originally slated to begin at 6 PM, didn’t begin until just after 10 PM.

The weather has still been patchy up in Omaha, and it looks like it is going to affect yet another start time up at the College World Series. This time, though, it may be cause for celebration among Aggie fans—even though it doesn’t involve the Maroon and White.

As things stand, the game between Kentucky and Florida, originally set for tonight at 6 PM, will have to be played around 10 AM tomorrow morning. Of course, the Aggies are slated to play the winner of this game tomorrow night—a time that has not been moved. This means that, no matter which of Florida or Kentucky are playing, they will be coming into what is essentially a doubleheader for them, while the Aggies will be well-rested.

I may feel worse for these fanbases were it not for two facts: first, never apologize for wins—especially not in a playoff setting—and second, the Aggies need all the help they can get, thanks to the injuries now marring their squad.

Both Braden Montgomery and Shane Sdao suffered injuries before the Aggies arrived at the CWS, and now Jace LaViolette’s status is up in the air. Texas A&M baseball will use any advantage of this kind that they can get.

Additionally, this will help the pitchers up and down the Aggie lineup. Every hour matters when it comes to the arms, so this will be yet another boon. I'm hoping for a long, extra-innings bout between Kentucky and Florida that goes deep into both bullpens!
