Baseball America: Texas A&M baseball boasts insanely deep transfer class, will contend for a title in Michael Earley's first season

Now a little bit removed from everything that happened in late June, it still feels like such a complete whirlwind to look back on as a Texas A&M baseball fan. The Aggies were near the pinnacle of the sport, and then only days later the fans felt as low as can be. Not one week afterwards, fans were once more riding high, looking towards an extremely bright future.

That last piece is extremely key, and it is thanks to the brilliant hire that the Aggies made in Michael Earley. With him at the helm, huge names like Gavin Grahovac and Jace LaViolette made the call to return to Texas A&M baseball, bolstering the roster for another run at Omaha.

It wasn't just them, either. The Aggies began to pull in big names from all around the country via the portal, all while every single big name from their College World Series run that was eligible was also announcing that they would be back in College Station.

Looking over the list of names committed to play in Aggieland next spring, it's not hard to see why Baseball America labeled the Aggies as a transfer portal winner for this cycle.

The author lauds the Aggies' depth at catcher, which is notable due to the perceived lack of depth that A&M was supposed to have behind the dish with the departure of Jackson Appel. Earley's work to bring in three high-quality players at the position is really quite something.

It is also notable, though, that every one of the five teams listed as a transfer portal winner is in the SEC. LSU, Tennessee, Georgia, and Arkansas all make this list as well—a clear reminder of just how deep this league is and the work the Aggies have cut out for them if they want to return to Omaha.
