Texas A&M football looks to take the pole position in recruitment of 5-star ATH Michael Terry III after OV this weekend
Texas A&M football is coming off of another huge recruiting weekend. I know, it seems like I'm saying that every weekend these days, but the Ags have really been putting in work to get some top targets on campus over this past stretch.
One of those targets who was on campus this past weekend is San Antonio ATH prospect Michael Terry III. Terry has been one of the top names on the Aggies' board for quite some time—as he should be. Depending on where you look and how you classify different prospects (Jonah Williams could technically take this title depending on whether you classify him as an ATH or a S), Terry is the top ATH prospect in the nation.
Terry stands at 6'3" and 215 LBs and plays both running back and wide receiver at Alamo Heights. With a build like that, though, he projects most optimally to receiver at the next level—unless, I suppose, he wants to play linebacker!
By all accounts, the Aggies have done a great job so far with Terry. His is one of the most key recruitments in the state this year, as the Aggies and Longhorns are two of his top schools. This is a statement recruitment for Mike Elko, in other words—in fact, I labeled it a "must-win" in an earlier column.
After a weekend visit to College Station and a potential return in sight, I'm feeling good about where the Aggies stand with Terry. This is merely a "tea-leaves" prediction—and, at that, one in a venue that often sees wild swings of momentum and emotion very quickly—but I feel confident in the Aggies' chances at this point. If they can bring this one home, it would be absolutely huge.
