Jace LaViolette announces his return to Texas A&M baseball in wake of Michael Earley hire

Well how about this short run for Texas A&M baseball? Only just over an hour after the huge announcement that Gavin Grahovac will be returning to Aggieland after entering his name in the portal, star outfielder Jace LaViolette makes a similar announcement.

This is a huge turn of events for Texas A&M baseball. As I mentioned, the Aggies have been expecting most of their key players to run it back in College Station after they hired Michael Earley, but seeing the big names make the news official gets everyone energized.

These are two gargantuan dominoes that have just fallen, and hopefully they can get others—like Caden Sorrell—to make a similar public proclamation soon. This isn’t even to mention the effect it can have on portal recruits, such as Wyatt Henseler—a key guy the Aggies are still trying to get on campus at this point.

With Grahovac and LaViolette back in the lineup, this Texas A&M baseball team will truly be a force to be reckoned with going forward. There were already whispers of a preseason number one ranking for the Ags, and if they are able to keep this roster together (and even make a few key additions), they can certainly occupy that rarified air.

LaViolette has a chance to set the school record for homers in a career. He is only five off from that mark at the moment with a whole year yet left to play, so I think it’s safe to say he will likely destroy it before all is said and done. Grahovac is on pace to outdo Jace, however, so it may be a short-lived accomplishment! Having these two sluggers back in the lineup will do wonders for this Aggie team going forward.
