Mike Elko Lands Four More Portal Commitments for Texas A&M Football; Brings Total to 8 Over Two Days

I wrote an earlier story about Mike Elko's hot streak of portal recruiting for Texas A&M football that had cropped up on Thursday, as the Aggies landed Nic Scourton, Marcus Ratcliffe, and two more players that had not yet been announced. Four players was a great haul for that amount of time, I thought to myself. What a run!

The very next day, Elko did it again. It started with this one, at 11:48 AM CT:

What a big moment! Nice way to cap things off after a huge day yesterday—at least, that's what most Texas A&M football fans were thinking. It took a while, but Elko struck again at 5:52 PM CT:

Less than an hour later, he announced a third commit:

And just under the wire, he tweeted out the final commit of the day at 11:01 PM CT:

It is unbelievable the streak this man is on.

Which Transfer Portal Players Have Committed to Texas A&M Football?

Given the glut of commit tweets, it is reasonable to have a bit of a tough time keeping up with everything. From this most recent batch, here's who we know has committed:

1. DE Nic Scourton, Purdue

2. DB Marcus Ratcliffe, San Diego State

3. DB Donovan Saunders, Cal Poly

4. WR Jabre Barber, Troy

So that's four on the board, which means there are four more players that have yet to announce. There's been some smoke around former Ball State TE and current South Carolina commit Brady Hunt, but nothing concrete yet, which makes it unlikely that he is one of the four.

The defensive backfield for the Aggies will be almost completely remade by next fall—something that has really been sorely needed. The pass defense for the Aggies was their biggest issue this year, and it has appropriately been the biggest area that Elko has addressed so far in the portal.
